Website Accessibility

Effective Date: August 2023

Lodge Manufacturing Company, Inc. (“Lodge”), has an ongoing commitment to achieving the highest levels of satisfaction for our website users. As part of these efforts, Lodge is dedicated to offering a quality online experience at its website http://www.lodgecastiron.com (the “Website”) to users with disabilities.

To assist in achieving the aforementioned accessibility goals with respect to the Website, Lodge has committed to making the Website’s design, development, and operation be in substantial conformance with generally recognized and accepted guidelines and/or standards for website accessibility (the “Accessibility Standards”). While these Accessibility Standards may change and/or evolve over time, they are currently the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0/2.1 at Levels A and AA (“WCAG”). WCAG is a set of checkpoints and guidelines that help ensure that websites are designed and written properly. For example:

  • Images have alternative text so if you can't see the image you can still read the text.
  • Color contrast between the foreground and background is sufficiently strong.
  • Text resizes according to user preference.
  • Headings are correctly used and represent an accurate and logical outline of the content (they're not just ordinary text made to look big and bold).
  • Links make sense by themselves (no links that say "click here" or "more...").
  • Tables are used for laying out tabular information and have proper headings and summaries.
  • Lists items are defined as HTML bulleted lists to present items of equal status or value and as numbered lists if a particular order to the items is appropriate.
  • The content is fully accessible and operable with keyboard navigation only.

As part of these efforts, Lodge has engaged experienced accessibility consultants to provide assistance and advice on an ongoing basis regarding accessible website design and maintenance. Furthermore, our Website will continue to be assessed on a recurring basis from both an engineering and user-experience basis in order to provide feedback to Lodge regarding substantial conformance with the WCAG.

While we do not control third party vendors, we strongly encourage vendors of third-party digital content to provide content that is accessible and user friendly.
