We're making progress on our new foundry! Here's an update on our construction so far.
As you can see in the photo above, the foundation has been poured and the construction continues on the walls and roof. We have also made significant progress
on the installation of the sand towers (see photo below). During the next few months we will continue to work on the the structure and equipment installation,
and we expect to complete construction in the fall of 2017.
The new 127,000 square-foot foundry is located in our hometown of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, just a block away from our currently operating foundry.
When the facility is complete we expect to employ an additional 92 people in the local area. The new foundry will include a melt center, sand system
and two sand cast molding machines, increasing our manufacturing capacity by 75%. We are also in the process of completing a new 200,000 square
foot warehouse located a few miles away, right across the Tennessee River from our main campus.
Lodge was founded in South Pittsburg, Tennessee in 1896 and has produced American-made cast iron cookware in the same location for over 120 years.
You can watch how we make cast iron in our Tennessee foundry in this behind-the-scenes video.
