The 2017 National Cornbread Cook-off is now accepting recipe contest entries! Win $5000 in cash and other great prizes by submitting an original recipe

Each year during the last full weekend in April our hometown of South Pittsburg, Tennessee lights up to celebrate a staple in the Southern kitchen: cornbread.
As a part of the National Cornbread Festival, Lodge sponsors the National Cornbread Cook-off,
a search for the nation's best main dish cornbread recipe.
Entries for the 21st annual Cook-Off require that your original main dish recipe be prepared with at least one package of Martha White Cornbread Mix and be cooked in Lodge Cast Iron cookware. Lodge will select ten finalists to compete live on stage
during the National Cornbread Festival on April 29,
2017. Recipe entries will be accepted until January 31, 2017.
In addition to the best cook-off trophy around, the coveted skillet crown, the cook-off champion will receive a $5,000 cash prize and a 30-inch stainless
steel gas range (a $3,250 value) from FiveStar Professional Cooking Equipment, as well as special gifts from Martha White and Lodge Cast Iron.
The second place winner will receive $1500 and third place will receive $1,000. The remaining two finalists walk away with $150. All finalists receive
up to $500 travel reimbursement and a gift basket courtesy of Martha White and Lodge Cast Iron.
The National Cornbread Festival offers a full weekend of family-friendly fun that includes
live entertainment, a carnival, and more than 50 food and crafts vendors in addition to all the delicious cornbread there is to taste! Visitors can
also stop by the historic Princess Theatre to enjoy a variety of exhibits, view classic cars at the Cruise-In, and tour the Lodge Cast Iron foundry.
