I love cast iron, yet I never would have thought that I would be a fan of this wok, until I got it.
It is big, it's heavy, and with a flat bottom, it fits perfectly on my electric stove on the smaller sized burner. I have done everything from Deep Fry with it, cook up stir fry, made fajitas, scrambled eggs and more. I don't think a week goes by that I haven't used it. It cleans up fairly easy, and plan putting this, along with my other Cast Iron in my will for my kids.

I set wok directly on some hot coals in my Weber grill. It got extremely hot and stayed hot. No smoke or smells inside the house. Rinsed off with some warm water and rubbed on some oil. Easy. Looking forward to using it soon.

works great on an induction cooktop. bottom is flat - no ring needed. need to get re-educated on cleaning.. wash, dry, and coat with oil before putting it away.

Great wok. I use it on an electric stove and it works fine. Shrimp stir-fry, salmon stir-fry, chicken fajitas all turned out excellent. Don't hesitate on this tool. You will not be disappointed.

this is my go to for searing veggies (bok choy, asparagus, Chinese broccoli - browning/ searing meat) the sloped sides throw most of the grease spatter back into the middle, less mess on the floor. Heat this baby for 10 full minutes and stand back - stays HOT ! I have the old version with the long handle - wish I had the 2 strap handles - I highly recommend. Put under hot running water immediately - give a little scrub with a small brush - takes 5 - 10 seconds....NO SOAP EVER.

I never thought of a cast iron wok, but in the home it makes sense. One of the biggest issues with wok cooking at home is keeping the wok hot enough as you cook a larger amount of food. The cast iron works great for this. The heat radiates up the sides and you can cook on the bottom while you keep things hot on the sides.

This cleans up like a dream and after many uses looks almost brand new.

I was not convinced about the flat bottom as traditional wok cooking is parabolic with the heat radiating from the very center of the base. However, again I was pleasantly surprised. The flat base works very well, although it takes longer to get hot.

If you are looking for a traditional wok, this is not it, but if you are looking for a wok you can easily use to cook asian fare at home, this might just be it for you. Excellent tool.

Is the bottom of this wok flat ? Is it suitable and can it sit steadily on the induction hob?

This thing is a true beast. The first day I got it I made a stir fry for my friends and we were all surprised how much more quickly the food cooked in a wok that can actually hold it's own. I gave it time to heat up as this is as big as a melted down rail road tie but it's worth the wait. It was very easy to clean as it has two handles. For everyone wanting to know about the bottom, it's flat and sets on the stove nicely. If you don't have this wok and are contemplating a purchase, just get it.

Love this piece, have had mine several years and use it frequently! has a solid base that helps be secure on my gas range and does not require the annoying ring. the handles are small enough to not be in the way but sturdy enough to carry by. Great heat, equal heat, simple clean up, and so much fun!

Does This Wok Have A Round Bottom That Requires A Ring Or Is There A Flat Portion That Allows It To Sit On A Burner Independently? I Want A Round Bottom Wok? What Is The Weight? Does It Have Side Handles? Show A Picture! Is The Bottom Interior Cooking Surface Rounded Or Flat?

Delivered yesterday. I made a chicken stir fry tonight and LOVE this wok. It comes pre seasoned but I added some grape seed oil to increase the seasoning. I used this on my gas cooktop and found it to have good uniform heat zones. Heavy enough to stay put while you cook with both hands. Easy cleanup with water only, pat dry, put on burner for 30 seconds to completely dry and apply some oil.....this will be used for the next 100 years. What a value...if you like to stir fry come see what you've been missing.

One of my treasured pieces of cookware, Was given this a birthday present about 5 years ago, by my mother-inlaw who knew I loved to create Asian style dishes.
