Lodge sprays vegetable oil onto the cookware, then bakes it on at high temperatures to create a natural, easy-release cooking surface for everything from Skillets, to Grill Pans, Camp Dutch Ovens and our Restaurant quality serving pieces.

Like any piece of Lodge Cast Iron, our melting pot is a great heat conductor and is used for warming butter, melting cheese, scalding milk or heating syrup—and it moves with ease from the stovetop to the grill. Sportsmen find it ideal as a lead ladle.

14 oz., 4-1/2" dia., 2-1/2" depth

Melt butter, cheese or warm syrup.
Make BBQ sauce.
Use as a lead ladle.

Hand wash. Dry immediately.
Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every use.
You may experience some sticking with new cookware so use a little oil when cooking.
Mild soapy water is fine, if you dry and oil immediately.
Lodge seasoned cast iron is right at home on any heat source, except the microwave.

the rounded shape doesn't quite balance on my range too well but it's great for keeping hollandaise and other temperature sensitive sauces warm for service.
