Bake potpies and Cobblers.
Serves soups and stews.
Hot or cold desserts.

Hand wash. Dry immediately.
Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every use.
You may experience some sticking with new cookware so use a little oil when cooking.
Mild soapy water is fine, if you dry and oil immediately.
Lodge seasoned cast iron is right at home on any heat source, except the microwave.

I love cooking with cast iron. I'm trying to find something like a 1 1/2 to 2 qt sauce pan type of cast iron pan. We are just 2 and try to cook appropriate quantities. Cooking a small batch of black beans today in a calfolon pan, it's less than satisfactory for maintaining steady level of heat.
