I recently bought one of these simply because of the Lodge reputation and to and to add to my collection of Lodge cookware that I have been building over the last 30 years. This is my first carbon steel pan and I absolutely love it! Best utensil out there for preparing steaks the french way. Get it ripping hot and add your meat. You'll get a perfectly cooked steak with a nice caramelized surface. Add some pom frits and a nice Pinot Noir and you'll do better than than even the most expensive steak houses.

This frying pan is as good or better than the two authentic French pans I own. I'll be buying all the available sizes and the one with the two loop handles/
