A Lodge Color Dutch Oven is an amazing compliment to any season, with home cooks creating soups and stews, or buttery cobblers.

I have used my Lodge for about 6 months now. I have never had a single problem, until now. I was slow cooking (200 degrees) for about 5 hours. My roast was not done so I raised the temp to 300. Within a few minutes I heard what sounded like cracking coming from the oven. I looked in and the (plastic?) lid piece shattered all over my oven. There was no extreme temp change so I am completely confused why this happened. I hope Fred Meyers (where I paid almost a hundred bucks) will replace it.

Very disappointed with the quality of the enamel finish. I have used two different Lodge enameled pots and carefully followed the cleaning directions in each case. Both pots, shortly after I began using them, lost the gloss of the finish and began to stain terriblly and became progressively harder to clean. On the other hand, I have had a enamel pot from Belgium, purchased I 1973, that has had regular heavy use and the finish is still as good as new. It is better to spend the extra dollars on a good pot than to waste it on a Lodge.
