I don't think the design is intended to cook with these handles on. You slip them on when you need to hold the handle only so they are not hot

No crap Thomas Rogers, you put anything in a 450 F oven, you are not going to be able to touch it. Do you leave your oven mitts in the oven with your pans? No, you only use them when you are ready to pull an item out.

These are great on the stovetop and eliminate the need for a mitt or towel to pick up a hot skillet.

The previous reviewer is VERY dim! Please delete their review. Of course these are for stovetop use NOT for putting inside the oven! Anything you put in an oven will get hot and if you're putting something in the oven by definition you aren't keeping hold of it. Sheesh what a moron! These handle holders are for holding the handles while cooking on the stovetop or moving hot pans around. They are perfect for the task and are named appropriately. Because they are silicone their heat resistance is not reduced if they get wet unlike the textile versions. 5 stars easily

If you put something into a 450° oven, be it cast iron, silicone, or a rubber duck, sooner or later it will become, you know, 450°. When you place the skillet into the oven, remove the handle before you close the oven door. When you want to remove the skillet, put the handle back on. Works great. On skillets where the handle is too tight to slip on easily, then an oven mitt or a silicone pot holder works well.

If I could give this product less than 1 star I would. It may be dishwasher safe but it is not oven safe. If you use it to cook cornbread in a 450* oven do not touch it , use an oven mitt or you will be burned. I found this out the hard way. These are only functional for stovetop use.
